Luigi Baroli

Born in Corbetta, in the province of Milan.

After graduating in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic, he specialized in architecture, furnishings, important events, communication and jewellery design. He has been responsible for the coordinated image, from logo development to store design, of a clothing brand. He designed furniture, handles and lamps for various companies, focusing on careful technological research and a discreet and consistent image. In 1994 he was awarded the Compasso d'Oro for the design of the Cartoons screen (to this day part of the permanent collection at the MoMa in New York and other prestigious museums) created by Baleri Italia, a company with which he has collaborated from 1988 to 2004, overviewing the artistic direction of the showroom in Milan, as well as the presentations of the collections in Italy and abroad.

His character finds faithful representation in the words of Leone Belotti who writes: «Luigi Baroli is not an archistar guru and he is not a mainstream designer, rather he is the kind of court architect, master of ceremonies, grand chamberlain who is dedicated to a brand or an enterprise and oversees the entire corporate universe like a modern Richelieu or Mazarin, standing behind the scenes but controlling everything, and in fact ruling the kingdom for the Sun King on duty, who embodies and represents the image of power, while the cardinal is its substance.
